The Process of Microblading in Richmond Hill
The microblading process begins with numbing the area to be treated with a topical anesthetic. While waiting for the brows area to be numbed, the artist suggests the shades for the client to choose from. Once the area is numb, the artist proceeds with the brow mapping to create the best desired shape. Once the desired shape based eyes, nose and brows’ proportion created, the client may request some adjustments to get the look they want. Then the artist use a hand-held tool to create small incisions in the skin. Through these incisions, pigment will be deposited into the skin.
The artist will then use a blade to create strokes that mimic the look of natural hairs. The entire process takes about 2 hours and results are semi-permanent, lasting anywhere from 12 to 24 months. Aftercare is important in order to avoid infection and ensure proper healing.

What to do after Microblading
First and foremost, avoid getting your brows wet for the first 24 hours after microblading. This means no sweating, no washing your face, and no steam. Keeping them dry will help the pigment stay in place and heal properly. You should also avoid sun exposure for at least two weeks.
Your eyebrows can fade prematurely if you don’t take care of them properly. To maintain them, it’s important to wear sunscreen when you’re outside in the sun. UV rays can cause the pigment to fade prematurely. In the first few days after microblading, your brows will look darker than they will eventually heal to be. Wearing a hat outdoors will help protect your brows from being scorched. In the first few days after getting microbladed, your brows will appear darker than they will eventually heal to be.
It’s important to not touch or pick at them during this time, as doing so can cause them to become uneven. If you are planning on getting microbladed, it’s a good idea to schedule an appointment for the day after a waxing appointment. The waxing will help the skin be more pliable for the artist. You should avoid tanning, swimming or getting your face wet for at least 24 hours after getting microbladed. This will help the pigment to take better.

In the end, there are a few things you should keep in mind. Microblading is not magic and it does take time to heal. In the meantime, don’t pick, tug at, or rub your brows in any way. This may cause nasty scabs, bumps and scarring. If you have any questions, give us a call and we can help you out.
The healing process
The microblading eyebrow healing process can be divided into three stages: the initial healing phase, the scabbing/peeling phase, and the final healing phase.
During the initial healing phase, which lasts for approximately one week, the eyebrow area will be slightly red and swollen. The scabs will start to form during this phase, but it is important not to pick at them.
The scabbing/peeling phase lasts for another week or two, during which time the scabs will start to fall off. Again, it is important not to pick at them, as this can lead to scarring.
The final healing phase can take up to six weeks, during which time the eyebrows will continue to heal and the color will continue to settle. Once the final healing phase is complete, you will be left with beautiful, natural-looking eyebrows.

Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
Microblading is a type of Tattooing that uses small, detailed tattoos on the skin using a blade. It is becoming more popular as it has many advantages over traditional tattooing techniques such as precision, accuracy and less skin irritation.
HOW LONG IS THE APPOINTMENT?
Around two hours. The actual procedure itself will take about 30 minutes to an hour. The touch-up will take about an hour. Our specialist will consult with you the entire time during your session, ensuring that we are on the same page. We will use a symmetrical set of brows and agree on your perfect shape and color.
ARE THERE FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENTS?
As a general rule, 2 treatments are suggested, 6-8 weeks apart. The first follow up session which is complimentary gives us the opportunity to identify and correct any areas that may have faded or allows the client to make suggestions about alternate choices for the color or shape. Depending on the skin type, chosen shade and the shape, some may need more than one follow up . There is a minimal charge for it, but for having perfect brows, it is totally worth it!
HOW LONG DOES MICROBLADING LAST?
The procedure is expected to last several years, and touch ups are recommended every 1-2 years to maintain your shape, color, and detail. Comparatively, how often assisted varies depending on a variety of factors, including your skin type (oily skin fades sooner), the color you used (lighter colors fade sooner), sun exposure (over time can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment), and how often you use daily.
DOES MICROBLADING HURT?
Our goal is to facilitate, not only the procedure, but also any discomfort during the procedure. Before the procedure begins, a topical anesthetic is applied to the area. After the Microblading procedure, a liquid anesthetic is applied to minimize pain. For the majority of clients, this procedure is mild and relatively pain free.
CAN I WORKOUT AFTER GETTING MICROBLADING?
After your session, you must refrain from working out for 7 days. Expose yourself to no more than modest levels of light to moderate sweating; rinse with lukewarm water as soon as you can wash off the location where the microblading was applied. The same effect that makes sweat disappear will quickly fade the pigment from the tattoo, and its quality will diminish.
WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE MY EYEBROW PROCEDURE?
Please bring a few reference photos with you to your appointment if you have a specific shape and color in mind.
We can take your desired shape into consideration by filling in your eyebrows as you normally would.
If you want a different color than your own natural brow color, you should get your brows tinted to the shade you want your new brows to be least 3 days prior to the treatment. We do offer complimentary brow shaping. Please do not shape your brows 7-10 days prior to the treatment.
It is recommended you wait at least one year after stopping prescription Accutane before considering this procedure if you have been using it in the past.
It is important that you stop using Retinol two weeks before and avoid using it thereafter for two weeks.
We recommend getting Botox no later than 2 weeks before if you regularly get it. We are ensuring your eyebrows are symmetrical by doing this.
A minimum of four weeks before your appointment, avoid chemical peels.
For two weeks prior to and after your procedure, do not expose yourself to direct sunlight and do not tan. You should not come to your appointment sunburned. In this case, please contact us at least 72 hours prior to your appointment to reschedule.
You should not drink alcohol, take caffeine, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, or any blood thinners 24 hours before your appointment.
In order to ensure that the aftercare maintenance is completed properly, it is recommended that you plan your vacation at least 10 days after the procedure.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER MICROBLADING?
The colored area surrounding your tattoo will appear darker and bolder immediately following your procedure. You can expect this to last 3-4 days. Please give it some time and do not panic. it’s totally normal.
It is common for clients to experience swelling and redness for a short period of time, and it usually subsides within 24 hours. Up to three days may pass for some people, but it does not prevent them from working or socializing during that time. A mild sunburn may feel like the treated area afterward, but discomfort should be minimal.
Once the tattoo has healed completely, its true color will be visible after about 6-8 weeks. You will notice a softening and lightening of your tattoo during this process. You still have time to regenerated and exfoliate your skin, even if it appears to have lost a lot of color. The true color of the color will only become evident after 6 weeks, as it takes on new strength, and you can only touch up/adjust after this time. If your eyebrows are microbladed, they will heal up to 30% softer than what they were originally colored.
Depending on your unique skin type, final results may vary depending on how pigments hold and break down. Dry skin tends to produce crisper tattooed hair strokes than oily skin, which tends to produce blurry strokes. When you come in for your touch-up, Our specialist will re-evaluate how your skin has received pigment and make any adjustments needed.
It may still be necessary to use a pencil or powder in order to achieve healed results with each individual client. Additional sessions may be required to obtain the perfect results.
AFTER HEALING
It is possible for pigments to fade or discolor over time as a result of sun exposure. As a result of exposure to the sun over time, the pigment may fade and discolor.
